Peacock Bass Fishing Report Florida 03/10/2008

Peacock Bass Fishing in Miami, Florida is a blast! Come on down!

Today I was out with Bill and his son Jason from Pittsburgh, Pa. for a half day of peacock bass fishing in the Miami lakes and canals. Our day started out launching the boat at the Antonio Maceo park just east of Red Road and south of the Miami international airport. We just had a nasty cold front blow through so I did not know what to expect from the fish today.

We worked the flat by the boat ramp and nothing…out to one of me favorite canals where you can usually count on a fish or ten and again we got a big fat zero…We were seeing some nice fish but just could not get the bait where it needed to be to make them eat. Since we only had 4 hours to fish before Jason had to get on a flight back home we decided to make the run down south to see how the bite was there. We finallly got into some fish in the neighborhoods that were on beds. It was hard to see them today with all of the cloud cover but I managed to find these 4 and a few more that we released. Our best fish today was a hair under 4 pounds. I look forward to doing it again with you guys next year in the Florida everglades!
