Another 5 pound South Florida largemouth bass falls victim to the Skinny Dipper!!
I love to throw a swimbait! It is one of my favorite ways to catch ‘em…the skinny dipper made by Reaction Innovations is a dynamite smaller sized soft plastic swimbait! When the bass want something moving on top their trixy shark is a great choice to throw here in South Florida! My buddy Scott Martin from Clewiston, FL. just won an FLW event here on lake Okeechobee using a combination of these two baits. His other go to bait was a Lake Fork “magic shad”. My favorite colors are “sprayed grass” and “houdini”. I also like their “june bug” as well. In the magic shad I like watermelon red.
Our water temperatures are trying to climb back up every day we have some warmer weather. Out in the everglades it is hovering in the middle 60’s in the mornings and climbing into the upper 60’s be the afternoon and early evening. The bass fishing is just phenomenal right now! This is a great time to come down and target a BIG Florida bass! On a positive note regarding our peacock bass…a buddy of mine saw 2 big ones tearing up shad in one of the local canals the other day!! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come!!
